A database of specimen and photo vouchered bumble bee observations spanning 150 years of North America.
An ongoing project of Dr. Leif Richardson, who annually updates the database and shares the dataset for research and conservation purposes. This data consist of digitized label data (specimens) or collecting event information for around 800,000 bumble bee observations.
This data has been restricted by necessity to government use only . Those records marked as " Do not share " in the " data_restrictions_2 " field are sensitive observations and cannot be redistributed. If this data are used with project proponents, please make requests directly to Dr. Richardson , at leif.richardson@xerces.org.
These data were used to model species distributions, and provide maps of known and predicted areas of occurrence in the Bumble Bees of North America: an Identification Guide (BBNA) publication.
