Summary

HerpMapper is a cooperative community science project designed to gather and share information about reptile and amphibian (herp) observations across the planet. *******This layer only represents HerpMapper data from California.*******

Description

HerpMapper is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization designed to gather and share information about reptile and amphibian observations across the planet. The projects primary goal is to share data with professional conservation and research organizations to better conserve herpetofauna around the world. Data are made available to groups that use these recorded observations for research, conservation, preservation, and/or education purposes.

HerpMapper does not share point-location information publicly because of over-collection and poaching concerns. County level data are available publicly, but detailed point-location data are available to HerpMapper Partners.
