Reported Scientific Collecting Permit (SCP) data. This dataset contains reported data for permits issued by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife through the Scientific Collecting Permit Portal (SCPP) starting October 1, 2018. This dataset represents SCP reports, generalized to a 2.5 mile hexagon grid. If you need more specific location information, please contact the listed point of contact in the metadata.

Description

This dataset contains data from SCP Mandatory Wildlife Reports (MWR). This MWR data is for permits (under the new SCP regulations effective October 1, 2018) issued through the Scientific Collecting Permit Portal (SCPP) . Each permitholder to whom an SCP is issued must provide a Mandatory Wildlife Report to the Department of Fish and Wildlife.

The BIOS dataset - Scientific Collecting Legacy Permit (SCP) Reported Data Generalized [ds3005] - contains data reported to the Department under the old SCP Regulations (i.e., legacy SCP reported data - Report of Specimens Captured or Salvaged). This dataset can be accessed in BIOS using this url - https://apps.wildlife.ca.gov/bios/?al=ds 3005

WARNING : This reported data has not been checked for accuracy. Errors and misrepresentations exist (e.g., Lat/Long coordinate entry errors resulting in species out of range, etc.).
