Summary

This data was collected by Julie Garcia. It consists primarily of GPS way points collected from 25 Lotek satellite collars on female California mule deer in Eastern Region 2, California. These deer are from the Doyle deer herd. The data was collected from 2016-2019.

Description

The data set was created to analyze for survival, home range and movements of deer in the Cascades North Sierra and Northeast Sierra CA DCUs.

This is a special feature of the GPS receiver: A validated fix occurs when the receiver uses five or more satellites to calculate the position fix. Since the navigation solution needs only four satellites, the equations are over determined by one or more value. This can be used to calculate some validation on the range measurements.
