Consists of 297 nest site records of Swainson's hawks in the central Central Valley area (Glenn Co. south through Stanislaus Co.) gathered during the 2000, 2001, and 2002 breeding seasons. Observations were made by CVCSR staff.
These data do not represent a complete census of Swainson's hawks in the Department of Fish and Wildlife's Central Valley Central Sierra Region. Different sample blocks were covered in different years, so complete census was not conducted in any specific year. While each sample blocks was surveyed to find all Swainson's hawks in that particular block and in that particular year, it does not assure that all Swainson's hawk nest territories were found.
