Summary

The Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement (LSAA) data shown within the BIOS viewer provides a view of the LSAA projects located throughout the state of California in and along waterways. The LSAA Program processes and tracks all LSAA projects located within its jurisdiction.

Description

Fish and Game Code ("FGC") section 1602 requires any person, state or local governmental agency, or public utility to notify the Department of Fish and Game ("Department") before beginning any activity that will do one or more of the following: 1) Substantially obstruct or divert the natural flow of a river, stream, or lake. 2) Substantially change the bed, channel, or bank of a river, stream, or lake. 3) Use any material from the bed, channel, or bank of a river, stream, or lake. 4) Deposit or dispose of debris, waste, or other material containing crumbled, flaked, or ground pavement where it can pass into a river, stream, or lake. FGC section 1602 applies to all perennial, intermittent, and ephemeral rivers, streams, and lakes in the state. The Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement Project data provided in BIOS is generated nightly from the 1600 Project Tracking database. Room for error must be expected due to key data entry, lack of accurate data provided by the applicant and therefore if necessary for verification, the user should contact the regional office associated with the LSAA project of interest.

List of values
Value 1602 - Regular
Description A regular agreement is a project with a term that consists of five years or less. The project would be completed within the 5 year term unless an extension of time is granted. If "Regular" is requested, the Department will process the notification and issue a draft agreement with a term no longer than five years in accordance with the time periods specified in Fish and Game Code sections 1602 and 1603.
