Summary

This dataset was created to capture the locations of restoration projects funded by the Ecosystem Restoration Program.

Description

This layer contains the locations of ongoing and completed habitat restoration projects funded by the Ecosystem Restoration Program, and contained as a subset of the California Habitat Restoration Project Database (CHRPD). Project locations are georeferenced by heads-up digitizing in as much detail as possible based on maps submitted by grant recipients. A background layer of 1:24,000 DRG Quads was used to locate the projects precisely. WHAT EACH RECORD REPRESENTS: The records represent individual project sites of a completed or ongoing restoration project funded by the Ecosystem Restoration Program through 2008. Many of the projects have multiple sites. Each site is represented by a center point. A separate shapefile records the entire footprint of those sites in this shapefile that occur over a larger area, and is available on request.

The data were checked to ensure that all features have unique SiteIDs. The data were also checked to ensure that all locations have corresponding records in the ERP Database. These tests were performed on 3/25/2010.

Measure description
This shapefile contains point features representing ongoing and completed salmonid restoration projects with records currently in the Ecosystem Restoration Program (ERP) subset of the California Habitat Restoration Project Database (CHRPD). Features representing projects that have a status of planned, not funded, terminated, or withdrawn are not included in this dataset. Not all projects in the ERP Database have locations associated with them.

Measure description
Project locations are digitized in as much detail as possible based on the grant recipients' maps. The accuracy of the data depends, on a great extent, on the quality of the grant recipients' maps. Some projects without a map were digitized based on the written description of the project.
