Summary

This data displays the halibut trawl ground defined by California Fish and Game Code 8495 and California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Section 124. These data define areas open and closed to trawling within the state waters of California with a valid California Halibut Trawl Permit.

Description

This data is a spatial depiction of California halibut trawl grounds as defined by CA FGC 8495 and CA Code of Regulations, Title 14, Section 124. Both Open and Closed areas are included in the file. Sub-Area (2)(A) Point Conception to Gaviota was closed to trawling in 2008. Refer to the regulations for a detailed description of each area.
