Take Highway 90 (Marina Del Rey Highway) approximately 4 miles. Turn left onto Mindanao Way, pass Lincoln Blvd. (Highway 1), then turn left onto Admiralty Way and go to the end. Turn right onto Fiji Way, drive about 1/4 mile you will pass Marina Del Rey Launch Ramp, after the ramp there will be a large parking lot, turn into the lot and park as close to the dock as you can. There is a sign says "DOCK 52", all the sportfishing boats will pick up fishermen at that dock. There is no office or ticket booth, the captain will collect the fare at the dock or on the boat. Therefore, call ahead to make sure the boat you want to sample is fishing that day. Take 10 Freeway west 4 miles and exit on 4th & 5th St. off-ramp. Turn right on 4th St. and left on Colorado Ave. Drive to the end and you will see the Santa Monica Pier sign, drive straight onto the pier and park on the pier parking lot. Take the Harbor Blvd. off-ramp and turn right onto Harbor Blvd. at the end of the ramp. Drive 1 mile and turn right onto 22nd St. You can park your car at the free lot on your right and the landing is on your left. The ticket booth is at the back of the building. 22nd. Take the Harbor Blvd. off-ramp and turn right onto Harbor Blvd. at the end of the ramp. Drive 1/2 mile and turn left onto 6th St. and immediately turn right onto Sampson Way after you cross the railroad tracks. Drive into Ports O'Call Village and park (Free). The landing is right next to San Pedro Fish Market. L. A. Ocean Blvd. and drive for about 5 miles. In between you will cross Gerald Desmond Bridge ( Free) and Vincent Thomas Bridge ( this is a $ 0.50 toll bridge ). Keep on left lane and exit on Gaffey St. off-ramp and turn left onto Gaffey St. Drive approximately 2 miles and turn right onto 25th St. This street will eventually become Palos Verdes Drive. Drive about 15 miles and after you pass Hawthorne Blvd. drive 2.5 miles and turn left onto Paseo Del Mar. This site is adjacent to the corner of Via Neve and Paseo Del Mar, the entrance shows only a piece of empty land surrounded by houses. It is a very steep area and there is no sign. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0027 BB Point Vicente Fishing Access From the Long Beach office take Golden Shore and turn left onto W. Ocean Blvd. and drive for about 5 miles. In between you will cross Gerald Desmond Bridge ( Free) and Vincent Thomas Bridge ( this is a $ 0.50 toll bridge ). Keep on left lane and exit on Gaffey St. off-ramp and turn left onto Gaffey St. Drive approximately 2 miles and turn right onto 25th St. This street will eventually become Palos Verdes Drive. Drive about 15 miles you will see the site on your left but there is no place to make a U-turn. You can turn into the Point Vicente Park Interpretive Center and come back out. Now the site is on your right. Take Highway 90 (Marina Del Rey Highway) approximately 4 miles. To access from Playa Del Rey, turn left onto Culver Blvd. and drive 2.5 miles or toward the end and turn right onto Pacific Ave. and drive toward the end and go into the self-deposit parking lot. On weekend or summer time there is an attendant collecting parking fee, just show your ID and get in free. You have to pay to get into the ramp because there is an unattended gate, but in summer time or some weekends there will be an attendant and you can show you ID and get in for free. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0104 PR Golden Shore Launch Ramp, Long Beach From the Long Beach office take Golden Shore and turn left after you pass the chancellor's office into the parking lot. At present moment this launch ramp is privately owned. Currently this site is closed due to the fact that the area needs to be dredged. You may show your ID and get in for free. Otherwise, you can put the entry fee on your travel claim. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0105 PR Marine Stadium East Launch Ramp, Long Beach From the Long Beach office take Golden Shore and turn right onto E. Ocean Blvd. for approximately 4 miles and make sure you keep on left lane and because the road will split into two. The street will become Livingston Dr. Now you want to keep on the right lane and turn right onto 2nd St. Before Pac. Coast Hwy (1) you turn left onto Marina Dr. and follow the road all the way to the end. You have to pay to get into the ramp. Make sure you get a receipt and the entry fee can be claimed on your expense claim. Also, if you are away from your car, make sure you display your PSMFC or Fish & Game sticker on your car or you may get a parking ticket because they only allow car with a trailer parking in the lot. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0110 PR Cabrillo Beach Launch Ramp, San Pedro From the Long Beach office take Golden Shore and turn left onto W. Ocean Blvd. and drive for about 5 miles. In between you will cross Gerald Desmond Bridge ( Free) and Vincent Thomas Bridge ( this is a $ 0.50 toll bridge ). Keep on left lane and exit on Gaffey St. off-ramp and turn left onto Gaffey St. Drive approximately 2 miles and turn left onto 22nd St. Then you turn right onto Pacific Ave. Drive about a mile and make a left onto Stephen M. White Dr. At the parking booth you can show your PSMFC ID and get in for free. Follow the main road all the way down (there is a curve almost a 270 degree turn), after you pass Cabrillo Marine Aquarium you will see the launch ramp on your right. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0201 MM Pier " J ", Long Beach From the Long Beach office take Golden Shore and turn right onto E. Ocean Blvd. and turn right onto Queens Way. After crossing the Queensway Bridge you take the Harbor Scenic Dr. off-ramp (heading to Queen Mary), Take the Harbor Scenic Dr. straight down for about a mile. Before you make a right turn curve, the public fishing area is on your left and parking is free. This place could be unsafe late afternoons and evenings. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0202 MM Shoreline Village Piers, Long Beach From the Long Beach office take Golden Shore, after you pass you pass the chancellor's office you take the on-ramp to Shoreline Dr. (the end of 710 freeway). After you pass Pine Ave. you take the next off-ramp (Shoreline Village), drive to the end and make a right turn and go to the end then make a left turn (you will see the parking is for boat owners or by permit only). Drive in and you will see 3 small piers about 100 yards apart (these are Pier #1-#3). There are two more piers (Pier #4 and #5) you have to enter from Shoreline Aquatic Park off-ramp. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0203 MM West Side Main Channel-Fish Harbor, San Pedro Vincent Thomas Bridge to San Pedro Marina From the Long Beach office take Golden Shore and turn left onto W. Ocean Blvd. and drive for about 5 miles. In between you will cross Gerald Desmond Bridge ( Free) and Vincent Thomas Bridge ( this is a $ 0.50 toll bridge ). To get to Fish Harbor, before you cross Vincent Thomas Bridge, stay on your right lane, instead going onto the bridge, you take N. Seaside Ave. The street will have a left turn curve and will become Earle St. Turn right onto Terminal Way, go to the end and the street will have another left turn curve and will become S. Seaside Ave. The Fish Harbor will be on your left. In order to get to San Pedro Marina, you have to cross Vincent Thomas Bridge. Take the Harbor Blvd. off-ramp and turn right onto Harbor Blvd. at the end of the ramp. Drive 1/2 mile and turn left onto 6th St. and immediately turn right onto Sampson Way after you cross the railroad tracks. The whole section of Ports O'Call Village and the water next to Signal St. will be included in this site. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0204 MM Seaport Village Jetty, Long Beach From the Long Beach office take Golden Shore and turn right onto E. Ocean Blvd. for approximately 4 miles and make sure you keep on left lane and because the road will split into two. The street will become Livingston Dr. Now you want to keep on the right lane and turn right onto 2nd St. Before Pac. Coast Hwy (1) you turn right onto Marina Dr. and follow the road all the way to the end, the road will have a right turn curve, to the end you will see Seaport Village. Go into the plaza, all the way to the end and park and you will see the jetty. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0205 BB Abalone Cove ( Long Point to Inspiration Point ), Palos Verdes From the Long Beach office take Golden Shore and turn left onto W. Ocean Blvd. and drive for about 5 miles. In between you will cross Gerald Desmond Bridge ( Free) and Vincent Thomas Bridge ( this is a $ 0.50 toll bridge ). Keep on left lane and exit on Gaffey St. off-ramp and turn left onto Gaffey St. Drive approximately 2 miles and turn right onto 25th St. This street will eventually become Palos Verdes Drive. Drive about 10 miles you will see the site on your left. This site covers about 3 to 4 miles. There is no parking lot around Inspiration Pt. or Portuguese Bend but there is a parking lot at Abalone Cove Shoreline Park. Show your PSMFC ID and get in for free. For Long Point area you can enter from where Marineland used to be, take the road all the way to the end where the park entrance used to be and walk down to the beach. Parking is free but make sure you leave around 4:00 p.m. before the security lock the gate. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0206 BB Royal Palms Beach Park From the Long Beach office take Golden Shore and turn left onto W. Ocean Blvd. and drive for about 5 miles. In between you will cross Gerald Desmond Bridge ( Free) and Vincent Thomas Bridge ( this is a $ 0.50 toll bridge ). Keep on left lane and exit on Gaffey St. off-ramp and turn left onto Gaffey St. Drive approximately 2 miles and turn right onto 25th St. Drive about a mile and turn left onto Western Ave. Go to the end of the street and turn left onto S. Paseo Del Mar. There will be a small entrance on your right immediately after the turn (no sign). Show your ID and get in for free, otherwise get a receipt and put the amount on your travel claim. You can drive all the way down to the beach. Unsafe at late afternoon. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0207 BB Leo Carrillo State Beach Park (This site includes all of the state beaches between the LA County line and the N. end of Zuma Beach.) This site covers about 6 to 7 miles of beaches, include Leo Carrillo State Beach, Nicholas Canyon Beach, El Pescador, La Piedra, El Matador, and Broad Beach. There will be shore rod/reel and spear fishermen, kayak rod/reel and spear fishermen, and float tube fishermen. From the Long Beach office take 710 north, then take 405 north approximately 30 miles. Take 10 Freeway west 4.5 miles and the freeway will become Pacific Coast Highway. Drive about 25 miles and you will see Zuma Beach on your left, at the north end of beach you will turn left onto Broad Beach Rd. There will be two entrances in between private homes, be sure to look for public trash can (KLSX 97.1 stickers) and a small gate on your left. The rest of state beaches are pretty easy to find, just look for road signs. All these state beaches are self parking with a fee except for Leo Carrillo, be sure to display some kind of PSMFC or Fish & Game logos. To get into Leo Carrillo Beach, just show your PSMFC or Fish & Game ID and get in for free. Be sure to check these sites in the early morning hours. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0208 BB Zuma Beach Park, Malibu This site covers from north end of Zuma Beach to Pt. Dume State Beach. From the Long Beach office take 710 north, then take 405 north approximately 30 miles. Take 10 Freeway west 4.5 miles and the freeway will become Pacific Coast Highway. Drive about 25 miles and you will see Zuma Beach on your left and Pt. Dume Beach is south of it. Show your PSMFC ID to the attendant at both beaches and get in for free, otherwise get a receipt and put the amount on your travel claim. Be sure to check this site in the early morning hours. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0209 BB Northern End of Santa Monica Bay (Santa Monica Pier to Point Dume) This site covers about 22 miles of coast from Santa Monica Pier to Point Dume State Beach. From the Long Beach office take 710 north, then take 405 north approximately 30 miles. Take 10 Freeway west 4.5 miles and the freeway will become Pacific Coast Highway. The site start from here on until you get to Pt. Dume. Most of fishermen fish on the beach early morning. There will be others fishing on the rocks behind restaurants. Be sure to check them too. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0210 BB Southern Santa Monica Bay (Malaga Cove to Santa Monica Pier) From the Long Beach office take Golden Shore and turn left onto W. Ocean Blvd. and drive for about 5 miles. In between you will cross Gerald Desmond Bridge ( Free) and Vincent Thomas Bridge ( this is a $ 0.50 toll bridge ). Keep on left lane and exit on Gaffey St. off-ramp and turn left onto Gaffey St. Drive approximately 2 miles and turn right onto 25th St. This street will eventually become Palos Verdes Drive. Drive about 20 miles you will see the Palos Verdes Fire Station and Police Dept. on your right. At the stop sign, turn left onto Via Corta, follow the road down and turn right onto Via Arroyo and right onto Paseo Del Mar, go to the end and there will be an entrance down to the beach. From there you will follow the coast line all the way up to Santa Monica Pier. Ocean Blvd. for approximately 4 miles and make sure you keep on left lane and because the road will split into two. The street will become Livingston Dr. Now you want to keep on the right lane and turn right onto 2nd St. Right before you cross the first bridge you turn right onto Bay Shore Ave. The site start from here and all bay water until the end of Ocean Blvd. where Alamitos Bay Yacht Club is. Ocean Blvd. for approximately 4 miles and make sure you keep on left lane and because the road will split into two. The street will become Livingston Dr. Drive straight to the end, at the stop sign, turn left onto Nieto Ave. At the signal light, turn right onto Appian Way. This site covers all water by Appian Way. You have to park on the street and walk through small public walkways in between private homes to get to Marine Stadium waters. Take Highway 90 (Marina Del Rey Highway) approximately 4 miles. Turn left onto Mindanao Way, pass Lincoln Blvd. (Highway 1), then turn right onto Admiralty Way and go to the end. Turn left onto Via Marina and also go to the end, then turn right (the same street name), go to the end and you will see the jetty. There will be meter parking on your left, just display your PSMFC/Fish & Game logo so you will not get a parking ticket. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0303 PR King Harbor Hoist / Rocky Point Rental Skiffs, Redondo Beach From the Long Beach office take 710 north, then take 405 north approximately 16 miles. Exit on Crenshaw Blvd. off-ramp, you have to make two left turns in order to be on Crenshaw Blvd. Then you turn right onto 190th St. Drive about 4.5 miles and to the end of the road, turn left onto Harbor Dr. For King Harbor Boat Hoist, after you pass Portofino Way, you will see a parking entrance on your right. Make a left turn immediately after you enter into the parking lot, go straight down and you will see two boat hoists. Make sure you get will parking stub validated(free) through the marina office next to the hoists. For Rocky Point Rental Skiffs, you will turn right onto Portofino Way, go to the end and turn right into the residential parking lot. At the end of the parking lot you will see the skiff rental office. Since these sites are not next to each other, use your own discretion to check both places or consult to your supervisor. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0303 MM King Harbor Small Pier & Jetty It is the same direction as going to the hoist except when you turn left onto Harbor Dr. For the jetty, turn right onto Yacht Club Way and left into the parking lot entrance. Go all the way to the end of parking lot and you will see the breakwater. Show your id. and get in for free. For the pier, go into the same parking lot as the boat hoist, after you enter into the parking lot, go straight down and you will see the pier. You need to find out if they are pier fishermen or party boat fishermen because the boat landing is on the pier. Make sure you get will parking stub validated(free) through the marina office next to the hoists. Exit on Crenshaw Blvd. off-ramp, you have to make two left turns in order to be on Crenshaw Blvd. Then you turn right onto 190th St. Drive about 4.5 miles and to the end of the road, turn right onto Hermosa Ave. Drive about 0.5 mile turn left onto Pier Ave. The pier is at the end of the street. Make sure you display PSMFC or Fish & Game logo when you park at meter parking (without paying) to avoid getting a parking ticket. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0308 MM Redondo Beach Municipal Pier From the Long Beach office take 710 north, then take 405 north approximately 16 miles. Exit on Crenshaw Blvd. off-ramp, you have to make two left turns in order to be on Crenshaw Blvd. Then you turn right onto 190th St. Drive about 4.5 miles and turn left onto Pacific Coast Highway. Then turn right onto Torrance Blvd., be sure to keep on left lane and go down to the parking structure. The pier is west of the parking structure. It may be difficult to sample this pier because there are several walkways to the pier. Just choose one corner and do the best you can to sample anglers. Show your PSMFC or Fish & Game ID to the attendant and the parking is free. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0309 MM San Pedro Jetty & Cabrillo Beach Pier From the Long Beach office take Golden Shore and turn left onto W. Ocean Blvd. and drive for about 5 miles. In between you will cross Gerald Desmond Bridge ( Free) and Vincent Thomas Bridge ( this is a $ 0.50 toll bridge ). Keep on left lane and exit on Gaffey St. off-ramp and turn left onto Gaffey St. Drive approximately 2 miles and turn left onto 22nd St. Then you turn right onto Pacific Ave. Drive about a mile and make a left onto Stephen M. White Dr. At the parking booth you can show your PSMFC ID and get in for free. Follow the main road all the way down (there is a curve almost an 180 degree turn), you will see an open gate and small road, turn right and drive all the way down and you will see both the pier and the jetty. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0311 MM Alamitos Bay West Jetty (72nd Place Jetty) From the Long Beach office take Golden Shore and turn right onto E. Ocean Blvd. for approximately 4 miles and make sure you keep on right lane and because the road will split into two. Take Ocean Blvd. all the way to the end and you will see Alamitos Bay Yacht Club on your left and a meter parking lot on your right. Turn right onto Fiji Way, drive about 0.5 mile and you will Fisherman's Village and parking on your right. Fisherman's Dock is actually the bait receiver dock where fishermen pay to fish on the dock, it is located behind the village. Show your PSMFC or Fish & Game id. and parking is free, otherwise get a receipt and put the amount on your travel claim. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0314 MM Paradise Cove Pier, Malibu From the Long Beach office take 710 north, then take 405 north approximately 30 miles. Take 10 Freeway west 4.5 miles and the freeway will become Pacific Coast Highway. Drive about 23 miles you will see the Paradise Cove sign on your left. Turn left onto Paradise Cove Rd., go all the way down to the parking lot. This is a private road and property, so be sure to show your PSMFC or Fish & Game id. or explain your purpose of entry. The pier is next to the restaurant. Sometimes you will see some fishermen park there and fish 200 yards south of the pier, so they will be considered beach fishermen in Northern Santa Monica Bay fishing site. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 06 037 0315 MM Ballona Creek South Jetty, Playa Del Rey From the Long Beach office take 710 north, then take 405 north approximately 25 miles. Take Highway 90 (Marina Del Rey Highway) approximately 4 miles. Access from Playa Del Rey, turn left onto Culver Blvd. and drive 2.5 miles or toward the end and turn right onto Pacific Ave. and drive toward the end and go into the self-deposit parking lot. Exit on Inglewood Ave Exit, turn left at the off-ramp onto Inglewood Ave. and right onto Manhattan Beach Blvd. Drive all the way to the end and you will see the pier. There are meter parking on both sides of the pier.
